Qualification Overview

This qualification reflects the role of senior fire, rescue and response team members required to respond to emergencies, undertake search and rescue, operate breathing apparatus and deal with hazardous and/or highly dangerous situations in a team environment.

LRM deliver this qualification over 19 days in actual industrial environments utilising industry best practice methodologies, state of the art equipment and Trainers who are current industry professionals.



On successful completion of training, participants will be awarded the following nationally recognised qualification:

  • PUA30719 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations)

Your qualification will include the following nationally accredited units of competence (12):

  • PUAFIR309 Operate pumps

  • PUAOHS002 Maintain safety at an incident site

  • PUATEA002 Work autonomously

  • PUAFIR303 Suppress wildfire

  • HLTFA404C Apply advanced resuscitation techniques

  • PUAFIR320 Render hazardous materials incidents safe

  • PUAFIR308 Employ personal protection at a hazardous materials incident

  • PUAFIR316 Identify, detect and monitor hazardous materials at an incident

  • PUASAR024 Undertake road crash rescue

  • PUASAR025 Undertake confined space rescue

  • PUASAR032 Undertake vertical rescue

  • PUAVEH001 Drive vehicles under operational conditions


$7,450 per participant (GST not applicable)

If you enrol to undertake the full qualification, LRM would be pleased to offer a 10% discount reducing your total investment to $6,705.

Please note that if you already hold one or more units (obtained within the last 3 years), LRM will provide a direct credit towards your qualification at no additional cost. This will reduce your total investment further together with the course duration.
